The Sarnia Sting Atom MD's were burned by the Ayr Flames
2 - 1 in a very close contest in the Mooretown Rep / AE
tournament Friday afternoon, despite outshooting the
Flames 19 - 16 in the game. Ayr opened the scoring in
the 1st period, and added to it early in the 2nd period
to make the score 2 - 0, before the Sting's Jacob
Serratore scored a beauty, going top - shelf midway
through the 2nd period to make the score 2 - 1. That's
all the scoring there was, however, despite several good
scoring chances by the Sting late in the 3rd period.
Next action for Sarnia is
Saturday in Mooretown at 2:15 pm. against Tecumseh -
Shoreline, where the Sting will need a win to advance to
Sunday's final.
