Sarnia at London Hawks
December 9, 2009
The Sarnia Sting Atom MD's
defeated West London Hawks 2 - 0 Wednesday night in
London. It was a well deserved win for the Sting after a
couple of close games on the other end of the scoresheet.
The game remained
scoreless after 2 periods of play, but early in the 3rd
period, Adam L' Heureux opened the scoring pouncing on a
rebound to give Sarnia the lead. Tyler Vanderkloet and
Jordan Marks assisted on the play. Less than a minute
later, Keelan Kells made it 2 - 0 Sting, scoring a
similar goal. Assisting on the goal were Julian D'
Agostini and Jordan Marks.
With 10 minutes left in
the game, it was all West London, but Hendrik Lindhout
was outstanding in net stopping everything, including a
penalty shot with 18 seconds left in the game to earn
the shutout.
Next action for Sarnia is
Friday in Chatham against Chatham and St.Thomas in a
Silverstick Qualifier Tournament.
