Mooretown vs
Essex

The Storm began
their OMHA Playoff
hockey series this
weekend against
Essex and split a
pair of games with
each winning in the
other's barn.
Saturday in
Mooretown Essex beat
the Storm 4-2.
Mooretown opened the
scoring on a goal
from Jared Pageau
while Essex tied it
up late in the
first.
The Storm regained
the lead 2-1 on
Jared Pageau's
second goal from
Bailey Smalls and
Blake Howard but
Essex scored 2 quick
goals late in the
second frame for a
3-2 lead heading to
the 3rd. Essex would
then score with 3
minutes left in the
game for a 4-2
victory. The Storm
controlled most of
the play while only
giving up 8 shots
but were not able to
get alot of scoring
chances on the Essex
net. They needed to
regroup quickly or
the season would be
finished as it is a
best of three
series.
The Storm showed up
ready to play Sunday
and took the play to
Essex from the
opening face off.
They opened the
scoring on a goal
from Hayden
MacDonald with Jared
Pageau assisting.
The score remained
1-0 until the seven
minute marker of
period three when
Jared Pageau scored
a shorthanded goal
to give Mooretown a
2-0 lead.
The Storm allowed 10
shots on net with
Evan Musson coming
up big when called
upon and earning a
shut out.
The 3rd and deciding
game is Thursday
evening back at the
Moore Sports
Complex.
