Storm blow lead, settle for
tie
December
19, 2009
Mooretown hit the road for a
game in Macomb against the
AA Mavericks. They started
the game with a lot of jump
and drive but could not keep
this pace thru 3 periods and
had to settle for a 2-2 tie.
Mooretown carried the play
for the first period
allowing only a shot on goal
and winning every battle for
a 1-0 lead on a goal by Drew
Pepper from Aaron Dobson and
Jared Pageau. Mooretown took
their foot off the pedal and
let Macomb take the play to
them in the 2nd but managed
to score the only goal by
Jared Pageau for a 2-0 lead
after 2.
The Storm played a little
harder in the 3rd but Macomb
scored 2 minutes into period
#3 to cut the lead in half
and then tied the game with
53 seconds remaining.
Emma McCormick made some big
saves in the 2nd and 3rd
periods to preserve the tie.
This should be a good lesson
that it takes 3 periods to
win a hockey game.
