Lambton Jr
Sting Minor PeeWee's tie the
Gold Jr Knights 3-3
October 09, 2009
After
falling behind on two separate
occasions the Jr Sting were able to
battle back and pull out a point in
their return match against the
London Gold squad.
London would open the scoring early
in the first period and the Jr Sting
would late till the last possible
second to score the tying goal as
the period came to end. A solid
forecheck by Brock Perry and nice
feed from Franco Sproviero to Isaac
McLean would be the recipe the Sting
needed to get on the board.
The second period would see the
Lambton squad take too many
penalties and that combined with
some timely mistakes led to them
entering the third period down by a
score of 3-1. As the game got a
little chippy the Jr Sting
capitalized on a couple of chances.
On a powerplay, Sproviero was able
to dent the twine on a nice point
shot with a great screen being
provided by McLean. Colin Leyton
would add the assist on the goal.
With time winding down Jake Burnard
would find himself alone in the slot
and bury a great wristshot on the
London goalie to tie up the game.
Drawing assists on the goal were
Sproviero and Perry.
Lambton
Minor PeeWee's Settle for 2-2
tie at home vs. Cambridge Hawks
October 10, 2009
The Jr
Sting hosted the Hawks Saturday at
the SSEC and despite being outshout
'2-1' were able to squeeze out a tie
in front of their home fans.
A goal in the first and one in the
third, both by Patrick Wright, was
all the Jr Sting could put on the
board in this contest. Assists on
the goals went to Ethan Dupont,
Franco Sproviero and Colin Leyton
and a solid goaltending performance
was put in by Jake Wilkins to give
his team an opportunity to pull out
the tie. |
