Lambton
Jr Sting Minor PeeWee's Looking for
an Offensive Push
October 3 - 4,
2009
The Minor PeeWee's faced both the
London squads, Green and Gold, in
weekend action. Although only two
goals were allowed over the two
games, the team only managed to
score one and came away with a tie
and a loss.
Saturdays contest against the Jr
Knights Green team was played on the
'big rink' at the Western Fair
Sports Centre and it appeared that
the boys had other things on their
minds for this contest. No goals
were scored by the Jr Sting and
thanks to a great performance by
goalie Kaden Fulcher the team was
able to come away with a 0-0 tie.
The following day the Lambton squad
welcomed London's top team, the Jr
Knights Gold, to the SSEC and came
out with a much better effort. The
Jr Knights held a decisive shot
advantage but hard work in their own
end by the Jr Sting and some timely
saves by Jake Wilkins kept things
close. At the end of the day the Jr
Sting would fall by a score of 2-1
with Ethan Dupont scoring the lone
goal on an unassisted effort.
The Jr Sting will look to regroup
with two practices before travelling
back to London to battle the Gold on
Friday night. |
