This Past Weekend: A Win, a Tie and a Loss
Last Saturday the Minor Atoms travelled to Hamilton to face the Hamilton Reps and played very close defensive game that ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Sting took the lead midway through the 1st period with a goal from Josh Vale, assists going to Theo Crombeen and Duncan Core. Hamiltion did push to get the equalizer but our defense get them at bay.
In the second period Hamilton did finally get some open ice and tied the game at 1-1. The Sting would have many opportunities in the 2nd and 3rd periods but just couldn’t seem to find the net.
Jakob Knowles played a strong game in net for the Sting.
Sting Lose to Cambridge Hawks
On Sunday the Minor Atoms hosted the Cambridge Hawks at the RBC Centre and were handed a 7-3 loss.
Cambridge opened the scoring in the 1st period but the Sting answered back as Josh Vale took a nice pass from Theo Crombeen to even things up at 1-1.
The score would remain this way through the 1st, however in the second period the Hawks would dominate, scoring 5 unanswered goals. They exploited many weaknesses but most of all they just wanted the puck more. Before the period ended Josh Vale scored another assisted by Cameron Rombouts with a beautiful centering pass.
The Hawks and Sting would exchange goals in the 3rd (Dante Fuoco from Gage Langford) but the result remained the same...a 7-3 loss.
Exhibition Game: Sting Beat the Flags
The Sting crossed the border later Sunday afternoon to take on the Port Huron Flags 99 team. Though bigger then us the Flags could not match the speed and skill and fell 10-1. Hats off to the Flags organization who put on a great pre game show with lights and introductions, which the boys thoroughly enjoyed.

Nolan Farr 2 G 5A
Duncan Core 1 A
Dante Fuoco 3G
Brett Allardyce 1A
Carson Payne 2G 1A
Theo Crombeen 1A
