The second game of the season was the home opener for the Major Atom Jr. Sting this past Saturday morning with the Waterloo Wolves in town.
Waterloo controlled the play throughout the first period scoring their 1st goal midway through and then followed that up with 2 quick ones at the end of the first to make it 3-0. Waterloo then scored their 4th goal before the Jr. Sting’s Garrett Miller got a tap in on a nice pass from Noah Myers.
That seemed to breathe some life into the Jr. Sting and they controlled the play for the rest of the second period.
Waterloo then put the game on ice with 2 more goals halfway through the third period and cruised to a 6-1 win over the Jr. Sting. Garrett Miller scored the lone goal assisted by Noah Myers.The Major Atoms have some work to do in order to get ready for their next tough opponent, the London Jr. Knights-Gold on Thursday night at the SSEC.
