The Major Atoms were on the road on Thursday night in London to battle the London Jr. Knights-Gold.

The Jr. Sting’s Ryan Brown got Lambton off to a great start on a very nice individual effort, scoring 10 seconds into the game, assisted by Jack Hackett. The Jr. Sting carried the play through the 1^st period with great fore checking and solid D-zone coverage. Brennan Mckegan scored mid-way through the 2^nd period on the power play to put the Jr. Sting up 2 goals with Nick DiScanno and Nash Nienhuis picking up the helpers.
 

Ethan Hunt stood tall when called upon making a number of good saves. Lambton continued their strong play into the 3^rd period moving the puck to open teammates and carrying the puck to open ice. The Jr. Knights finally solved Hunt on a power play goal with just under 5 minutes to go in the game and got the equalizer with just under 2 minutes to go. The Jr. Sting had a great chance with a minute on the clock to go ahead but the Jr. Knight’s goalie was equal to the task. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.
 

The Jr. Sting played a great road game against a solid opponent.  The boys are starting to show that they can play and if they continue to put out the effort required the wins will come.

Ryan Brown and Brennan Mckegan each had 1 goal.

Nash Neinhuis, Nicolas DiScanno and Jack Hackett each had 1 assist.

Ethan Hunt played a strong game in between the pipes.
