The Sarnia Ladies Jr
Sting Midget "C" team started both
their league playoffs and their
provincial play downs this past
weekend.
On Saturday Sarnia played host to St
Clair. The
Sarnia girls
came up short
in a
very close 2
to 1
loss.
The game was well played by both
teams and it was highlighted by some
great goaltending by Sarnia's Erin
Lange. Scoring the only goal for
Sarnia was Megan Ravensberg,
assisting on the play was Vanessa
Christner and Meaghan
Pawson.
Their next game was
played in Mooretown on Sunday and
this provincial play down game
finished in a 5 - 2 victory for St
Clair. The visiting Sarnia girls
played hard but were not able to
match the offence of St Clair and
went down 4 goals early in the game.
The Sarnia Ladies Jr Sting did fight
back with 2 goals to make the game
close but came up short in the end.
Danielle Peters put forth a great
effort in net and made
some outstanding saves for Sarnia.
The goal scorers for the Sting were
Megan Ravensberg and Laura Wong.
Adding assists on the goals were Meaghan
Pawson, Michell Knott, Jasmine
Davies and Cassie Fowlie.
The team continues their post season
play next weekend.
