The Sarnia Lady
Sting Midget AA team recently returned from the
Toronto Aeros showcase tournament over the
weekend with some disappointing results.
The Sting lost three
straight games to send them packing earlier than
expected. They faced two very strong teams their
first two games, Peterborough and Oakville.
Sarnia only managed to score two goals, one in
each match up. Melissa Kelly got the loan goal
in the first game unassisted from a hard shot
from the point.
Alicia MacDougall
was the sole scorer in the second game when she
popped in a rebound from Sierra Butler. Erica
Bucci also got an assist on the play. Their
third matchup was a nothing game for both teams,
but Sarnia still gave it their all but once
again came up short.
The Lady Sting have
two games this coming weekend against Saugeen
Maitland.
Saturday they travel
to Mitchell where they are the featured game at
the Mitchell women's hockey tournament, then
Saugeen will be in Sarnia the following day for
a 2:00 rematch at the RBC centre.
