The Sarnia Lady
Sting Midget AA girls played two strong
games this past weekend picking up three out
of four points. The Sting were away on
Saturday playing the Bluewater Sharks. The
play was pretty even throughout, but Sarnia
would score first on a beautiful goal by
Karly Dobbin. She was assisted on the goal
from her sister Kelsey Dobbin.
Unfortunately, Bluewater also put one in the
net late in the third to tie the game up.
It would remain that way to give each team
one point.
Sarnia was back
home on Sunday to face the Stratford Aces.
Sarnia would open the scoring in the
first on a nice snapshot from Alicia
MacDougall. She was assisted on the goal by
Karly Dobbin who made a perfect pass out
front. The always strong defensive player
Danielle Girard also picked up an assist.
Early into the second period the Aces would
score a goal of their own on a 5 on 3 power
play to tie things up. Later in the second
period, Sierra Butler would get a great
breakaway chance and beat the Stratford
goalie on a beautiful move to her backhand
to the top corner!
Cassie Kerrigan
was in net for both games and played amazing
making many key saves to keep Sarnia in both
games. She held the opposition to only two
goals all weekend.
Sarnia's next
game is this coming Saturday night in
Windsor.
