The Sarnia Lady
Sting Midget AA girls played an away game in
Chatham on Wednesday night, this would be
their first meeting of the season.
After a
scoreless first period, the Sting would
strike first when Megan Moore's persistence
and hard work paid off to bring Sarnia up
1-0. Karly Dobbin assisted on the play.
Unfortunately, early in the third
period Chatham Outlaws would reply and score
somewhat of a fluky goal to tie things up.
Sarnia threatened many times, even hitting
the post late in the third, but it looked
like yet another tie for Sarnia. With only
26 seconds left, Jillian Rops found a lose
puck in front of Chatham's net and fought of
their defense to tuck it in the back of the
net and cement the win for the Sting.
Mallory Mullin played a strong game in net
for the Sting making many great saves.
With only four
games remaining in league play it was an
important two points for Sarnia, as only the
top 8 teams make the playoffs. The Sting are
currently sitting in fifth place.
