The Sarnia JR. Lady Sting Bantam B captured all six
points this past weekend with 3 great wins.
The first win came at the Brock St Barn
versus the Wilmot Wolverines. It took till the third
period before Carly Stamm unassisted beat the
opposing net minder to open the scoring. Sarnia's
Katelin Williams and Brianne Biggers added the final
two goals to seal the win. Assist went to Jenelle
Labadie, Amy Rawlings and Stamm. Sarnia goalies
Brittany Quackenbush and Melissa Bennett shared the
game and the win.
The Bantams then travelled north on Sunday to
play a double header against the unbeaten Mt. Forest
Rams. Game one saw Nathalie Pringle score off an
assist from Williams less than 30 seconds into the
first period. Then with strong forechecking and
sound defence in front of excellent playing by
Quackenbush Sarnia secured the win. The second game
proved to be a more spirited game with both teams
going end to end. Sarnia's scoring did not come
until start of the second period when a Labadie
rebound found the back of the net courtesy of Alex
Godfrey. These same two along with Biggers would add
Sarnia's second goal by Godfrey to the period. Mt.
Forest did respond in the third period took
advantage of a Sarnia mix up to pull within one. The
final minute proved to be exciting and hard fought
when Williams forced the puck from the Sarnia zone
and gave chase to score the empty net goal with ten
seconds left. Goalie Melissa Bennett played a strong
came coming up big a number of times.
Sarnia is now off to Stratford for the Aces
Tournament.
