Week 2
Stokes Bay Bruins 8
– Bluewater Power Leafs 3
Some of the haze surrounding the new
acquisitions to the Bruins Hockey Club got a little clearer
as newcomers Brent Steeves and Dean Esser combined for 7
goals while leading the talent-rich Stokes Bay past the
shell-shocked Bluewater Power Leafs 8 to 3. Steeves
impressive 4 goal outing with his kid’s road hockey stick is
overshadowed by the tampering investigation still underway
involving his last minute trade from the strong-armed
Sharks. Dan Lavender was the only scorer for the Leafs with
3.
Team Outfitters
Punishers 8 – Natsco Mechanical Avalanche 5
Despite a third period surge, the Natsco
Mechanical Avalanche find themselves in unfamiliar territory
going winless in their first two games and sharing a spot
for last place. The Team Outfitters Punishers bounced back
from a first week loss holding on for an 8-5 victory.
Sanfransisco Jack VanSickle and Curtis Daboll scored twice
for the Punishers while a depressed Mr. X had a hat and two
helpers in the loss and in a move to inspire his team, is
seeking the league’s permission to officially change their
name to the Lions.
Baby G’s Pizza
Islanders 6 – Fenwick Red Wings 3
Apparently the Fenwick Red Wings took
last weeks article literally where it was written that Baby
G’s Pizza was a team to watch as they had front row seats
watching the Islanders double them 6-3. The Wings couldn’t
solve the Islanders’ D or the higher boards while Darryl Maw
and Leaf defector Scott Clark scored twice each for the G
men. Wing centre Paul “Lally”(gagger) Lalande blamed his
dismal outing on his watery eyes due to the three bags of
onions he chopped in the first two periods.
Al’s
Gas and Variety Sharks 7 – Barb Bonnema Penguins 4
In a show of team diversity 8 different
players scored for the Al’s Gas and Variety Sharks as they
outgunned the Barb Bonnema Penguins 7-4. As soon as the
final buzzer went off, the Sharks captain Will
“Nosoupforyou” Shawnoo instinctively launched his usual
protest with league officials which included the referees,
poor lighting, bad ice etc.. The protest was eventually
withdrawn when his overjoyed team-mates finally convinced
him that they had actually won the game. Forward
Joelhookey.com scored two for the Penguins.
