Stokes Bay Bruins 6 - Bluewater Power Leafs 1

It took 3 periods for Bluewater Power to finally crack the Stokes Bay defence to notch their first and only goal of the game in what is a common theme this year as the Bruins cruised to a 6 to 1 drubbing of the anaemic Leafs.  Dan Lavender was the lone scorer for Bluewater with help from rookie Tyler Callander and Jim McCabe.  Bruin boss Quagmire Whelpley has now been left with the difficult decision of whether to rest some of his players for the last three games or go for the perfect season.  It’s been reported from inside sources that their legs are fine but most of the team is complaining of sore jaws and hoarse throats, from a long season of chirping opponents while filling their nets and bragging to girls in bars.

Team Outfitter Punishers 6- Natsco Mechanical Avalanche 5

It was a close shave for the Team Outfitters Punishers as they squeaked by the Natsco Mechanical Avalanche 6 to 5.  Sanfransisco Sickle pitched in with 2 goals for the Punishers.  The Avalanche’s Mike Simpson’s third period goal to even things up wasn’t enough as Doug McCurdy got the game winner from Todd Pepper and Pat Mathieu to secure the two points.  Sanfransisco Sickle went on to guarantee a win over the Stokes Bay Bruins next week while putting a personal bounty on lead Bruin chirper Squid MacDonald.

Baby G’s Pizza Islanders 9- Fenwick Red Wings 3

Since winning the Keg last season, it’s been a long year filled with parties, appearances and very little hockey for Fenwick Red Wings.  The Wings 15 skaters were happy to see a short bench for the Islanders as their diabolical plan to tire Baby G’s 7 skaters out soon backfired as the small, fit and talented crew slapped around the large, out of shape Red Wings 9 to 3.  While Fenwick D skated like drunken sailors, power line forwards Rock Bottom Wally and Slapchop Lally combined for a staggering one point.  Mike Anning recorded a hat trick for the Islanders while Scotty Preece responded with 2 for the tubby Wings.

Al’s Gas and Variety Sharks 9- Barb Bonnema Penguins 6

In an entertaining tilt, Woody Fajardo and Tony Mallette each scored twice to lead Al’s Gas past the Bonnema Penguins 9-6 with the majority of the goals coming late in the third including Woody’s stat-padding empty netter with 1 second left. That questionable move warranted a security escort for Fajardo who had to wade his way through a throng of angry Penguin fans who had congregated in the parking lot… OK… I made that part up…there’s no such thing as a Penguin fan….Bonnema forward Mike Land chipped in with 2 of his own in the loss.
