Joel Skinner has won
the Morrison award,
which recognizes a
person who has made
a significant
contribution over
many years to youth
in their sports
endeavours.
Among other things,
he created a running
club that has
allowed many
athletes to
train at top levels.
At Great Lakes
Secondary School
(formerly Sarnia
Collegiate) he has
coached both
cross country and
track and field for
many years.
His athletes have
gone on to
tremendous
achievements at NCAA
Division 1 schools
and at the Olympic
Games, including the
winning of an
Olympic gold medal.
He was also the
throws coach at the
Pan Am juniors and
was named the head
coach for the
Canadian World
Junior 2018 team.
