Perry Arnold - Football
Born in Sarnia
From 1970 – 1973 played Defensive Back
and Linebacker for the University of
Western Ontario Mustangs football team.
In 1970 led the Mustangs in
interceptions as a Freshman.
In 1973 was named to the OUAA Allstar
Team and to the All Canadian University
Football team by the Canadian Football
Coaches Association becoming the first
Sarnian to receive such an honour.
Also in 1973 won the George McGullagh
Trophy as the MVP on the Mustangs.
1974 was drafted by the Ottawa Rough
Riders in the CFL Draft and signed a
contract becoming one of only three rookies to make the team
that year.
In 1975 Arnold was traded to the CFL Winnipeg Blue Bombers
but his career was sortened by knee injuries.
