Sarnia Imperials vs Toronto Mad Dogs
Saturday August 8, 2009

The Sarnia Imperials season ended on Saturday as they fell 35 - 13 in game 1 of playoffs against the Toronto Mad Dogs.   The Imperials traveled with 22 players as injuries and work commitments shortened the bench.  Both sides had to deal with wet weather conditions.

Offensively Ryan Lounsbury came up big with 131 yards on only 5 catches.  On one of the catches Lounsbury ran 70 yards for a touchdown.  He also chipped in with a convert.  Quarterback Adrien Brown was absent due to injuries and Steve Archer and Terry Mitchell took over the role and threw a combined total of 167 yards and went 9 for 14.  The final touchdown for the Imperials was early in the 4th quarter by Matt Browning on a 17 yard pass, however he was injured on the line and sat out for the remainder of the game with a mild concussion.

On the defensive side Chad VanBarneveld led the team with 7 tackles and 1 sack, closely followed by P.J. Jackson who had 5 tackles.  Terry Mitchell before leaving the game up with 2 interceptions and Ricky Gorton chipped in with a few tackles and a fumble recovery as well.
