The 81st annual Imperial
Bonspiel wrapped up on Saturday afternoon by crowning a new
champion. The Mark Bice foursome from Sarnia went undefeated
in the bonspiel , defeating 2002 champion Don Bourque in the
final game.

Bice also bested Mike
Pruliere in the semi-final. The winning rink included Rob
Pruliere, Jeff Young and Johnathan Doan.
Bice now heads for Napanee where
the provincial championships begin Monday. Also going to
Napanee will be Jayson Young who curled with 2009 champion
Heath McCormick in the Imperial.
In the CIBC wood Gundy
consolation Mike Pruliere defeated Doug Booth. Pruliere’s
rink included Tom Pruliere, Gerry Pearson and Jordan
Douglas.
The C & C Construction second
event was captured by Frank Mastronardi over the John Roman
squad from Sarnia. The winning team included Tim
Koehler,Steve Scott and Paul Nestman.
The Toolrite Engineering third
event was won by Jason Johnston’s Wallaceburg team over the
Sarnia foursome skipped by Grant Collison.
The SNC Lavalin fourth event
went to Paul Van Bilsen of Glencoe over Ted Evans of Sarnia.
The D.J. Robb fifth event saw Al
Beaucage of Sarnia defeat Dwayne Smith of Forest. The
winning rink included Dave McKinnon, Ric Leschyshyn and Rick
Squires.
The R.S. Air Services sixth
event was won by Ted Vanos of Forest over Gary Ireland of
Wallaceburg.
The MRC Midfield seventh event
went to Steve Dew from Sarnia Briarfield over Mac Webster
of Forest.
The United Taxi/Crabby Joe’s
eighth event was shared by the Paul Cooper and George Gammon
teams from Sarnia. |
